The Anax is about 30% finished!

I have been hard at work on The Anax.  I have over 400 picture manipulations finished!  Whew!  It is hard work, and while I think my novels could be text only, I want it to be as good as I can.  I have also been dabbling and working with programmers.  There will be a bit more to this title than Slugs and Bugs had.  It should be less linear somewhat as I figure out variables and how to make scenes change depending on what choices the player has made.

I have also added a menu with a few more options for immersion and designed it to be as easy to access as I think I can.  I have made a decision that after this title, all other graphic novels will be released as I finish each chapter.  I know a couple of you had said I should do that, and I have come to agree.  I think part of the reason my Patreon is so slow is that it has been months since anyone has seen me release anything.  So on Halloween expect a MASSIVE release for this project, and when I move on to Cereborgs and so forth, expect to see a chapter at a time.  Maybe I can get a better financial support that way (I lost my job and I am juggling two much lower paying jobs for now).

Thanks again to those that support me, and I hope what I release on Halloween will be exicting and fun for you all!

  1. I actually enjoy the linear progression of your stories. I really like that it's more of an immersive graphic novel than a pure game (a game would be more frustrating).

    1. My anonymous friend, thank you for letting me know anyone still reads this blog! I would say that it is still a story. You may recall in Slugs and Bugs how the 'bad ends' branched off relatively blatantly. Choose 'this' or 'that'. There will be scenes in the story involving me that work akin to that, of course, however, a player can choose to do things in a more 'good' or 'evil' way. If they choose enough 'evil' ways, they will end the story with a non-canonical finale.

Now, I will have a game someday. It will be rich in story and will be the entire finale of the Slugs and Bugs trilogy (interactive novel/e-book/game). I believe you will find The Anax story to still fit into the interactive graphic novel label more so than a game, however, I hope you find the little tweaks to give a sense of greater immersion. I look forward to sharing it with everyone on Halloween!

  2. Damn, already 400 pictures? Im happy that you will include a less linear story than in slugs and bugs as it always bugged me (haha) that most of the variations came at towards the end of the game (my favourite part of slugs and bugs was the 4 choices part) and i also think that your plans of release are a great choice, since staying contentless for a whole year isnt really good for business im my opinion.

Anyways, really like your stuff and cant wait for more updates

    1. Thank you! I appreciate the feedback. I estimate that this project may run over a thousand picture manips as I push all my skills to the limits to see what I am capable of. I hope that at least some people will find it scary and sexy. I think the way I am doing this, it will appear less linear. This is my first step into variables, but I know that the writing, art, and music should and will be to my standards! I work on this during on my free time, literally, ALL (when I am not making those YouTube videos for the community). Thank you again for posting on my blog!
